As Christmas grows ever nearer, it is the ideal time for us to search the shops for those final pieces of the festive puzzle to make our homes beautiful for the season.
Floral arrangements and decorations are always a winner, and even in the winter, you can find some fabulous foliage to add to your Christmas display.
Today we are going to take a look at your Christmas options and what floral additions you can make to your Christmas display.
A stunning Garland
One of the most synonymous floral decorations for Christmas is a beautiful Garland that can be placed on the mantelpiece or weaved on the stairs. Whether you choose a real plant for this or a fake, it will add an air of elegance and grandeur to your festive interior that you didn’t have before. We would also suggest buying some battery-powered string lights and weaving these throughout your Garland to make it shimmer and shine for the whole of December.
Pretty snowdrops
There are many plants that will still bloom and grow during the winter season. Whether it be weeds such as Chickweed or plants like holly – there are still some wonderful choices you can display either inside your home or in the front garden as people come to visit your home. Snowdrops are perhaps the most delicate and magical of the flowers you can display during Christmas – and they will give your home or garden a magical look for the season. The great thing about snowdrops is that they will come back year after year so come winter you will always have a beautiful plant ready to go.
A real Christmas tree
There is no more festive plant to bring into the home at Christmas than the Christmas tree itself. Plastic Christmas trees can be great for the budget, but they are nothing compared with the real thing and the beauty it will bring to your home. Choosing to buy a real Christmas tree rather than a fake one will allow you to enjoy the amazing shape of the tree, as well as a fresh pine scent that will overtake the home all month.
Mistletoe
Mistletoe is a great little decoration to add to your doorways at Christmas. Traditionally, if you stand under the mistletoe you are supposed to kiss someone, and this can be a fun way to spread love and joy during the festive season. The delicate white ferries on dark green leaves have a festive feel to them – and even if you don’t get the real thing, the plastic ones can still look impressive.
Poinsettias
There is nothing more festive in the world than a poinsettia. If you have never seen one of these flowers before, it is time for you to find one because this will be a stunning and bright addition to your home. The bold red flowers upon deep green leaves is incredibly festive, and these hardy little plants can last all year if you look after them properly!
