Get The Right Insurance 

A lot of business owners make the mistake of thinking that they are covered for vandalism when they aren’t. You can make public insurance claims to cover you if somebody is injured in your building or if you cause property damage while carrying out your business activities. However, that insurance does not usually cover you in cases of vandalism. Your building and contents cover may protect you, but every policy is different and some species don’t cover vandalism. In that case, you will need a new policy to cover vandalism. If you are unsure about whether you are protected from vandalism or not, double-check and change your policy right away.

Deduct From Salaries For Vandalism

People always think that vandalism comes from the outside, but company employees can damage your building too. Usually, this happens because people are unhappy in the workplace and they have issues, so creating a better environment and investing in your employee’s wellbeing will reduce issues here. However, you should also make it clear that money will be deducted from salaries if people are caught vandalizing the building. This acts as a great deterrent from internal vandalism.

So, it’s important that you boost your security as much as possible to protect your office building. Make sure that you have plenty of security cameras in visible spots to act as a deterrent and help the police catch perpetrators of vandalism. Security lights are also a very effective deterrent against vandals and they’re cheap to install. 

Fix Damage Straight Away 

When somebody vandalizes your property, either inside or outside, it’s crucial that you fix the damage as soon as possible. If you leave it, that sends a message that you tolerate it and you won’t really do much about it. So, people are far more likely to do it again in the future, which is when it becomes a more serious problem. Leaving the damage also gives any visitors the wrong impression about your business. So, fix it right away and, where possible, take immediate action against the perpetrators.
