*I was invited to the Epcot Flower & Garden Media Day. All magical opinions are fully my own*
Spring is in full bloom at the Epcot Flower & Garden Festival. There are topiaries everywhere… Delicious food and drinks abound… And there is something for every member of the family to enjoy!
My husband and I left the kids with grandma and spent the day exploring the park. This was our first time at this particular festival, and it did not disappoint.
Flower & Garden Scavenger Hunt
The first thing we did was the scavenger hunt, Spikes Pollen Nation Exploration! Epcot is known for its amazing hunts, and this one was right on par with all the rest. Maps can be purchased at many of the shops for $6.99. Then you take your map and look for spike the bee in the gardens.
He can be a sneaky little fellow, so keep your eyes peeled! You will find him next to some of his favorite flowers in the gardens. Place your stickers on his locations and once the map is full, you can redeem your map for an adorable prize.
I decided on the Minnie Mouse Patches for my prize. It is just so cute and I fell in love with her. Honestly, I have no idea what to put it on though! So if you have any suggestions, please let me know in the comments!
Food & Drinks at the Flower & Garden Festival
So probably the part that most people are excited about at any Epcot festival has to be the food and drinks. I mean, they always have delicious offerings. At Flower & Garden, you can travel the World Showcase and literally try a bit of everything from all around the world.
Make sure you grab one of the passports at any of the food booths so you can see what to get all of the stops. My two personal favorite drinks were the Watermelon and Cucumber Slush ( with Gin) available at the Florida Fresh stand… And the Honey-peach Cobbler Freeze with Blueberry Vodka at the Honey Bee-Stro.
Not really into sweet drinks? Don’t worry! My husband grabbed a few beer flights! His favorite was the one from the Florida Fresh booth… Seems like we tend to gravitate to all things Florida.
Unfortunately, I somehow forgot to get pictures of the food! ( Bad blogger I know!) But take my word for it, all of the food is delicious! Disney never lets you down when it comes to great meals, and I would recommend checking out all of the food booths ( especially in Mexico)
Flower & Garden Topiaries
The biggest draw to the Epcot Flower & Garden Festival has to be the topiaries and gardens. No detail is overlooked! They are stunning recreations of famous Disney scenes and characters done in beautiful floral arrangements.
I was utterly fascinated by there beauty and found myself wishing I had any tiny bit of a green thumb so I could produce similarly lovely gardens at home. Unfortunately, I am not a gifted gardener so I will have to settle for admiring these beautiful creations at the festival.
My favorite had the be the Beatty & The Beast in France! Just look at that detail!
Flower & Garden With the Kids
While we left our kids behind for the day, there is so much to do in Epcot for families traveling with their children. The scavenger hunt is perfect for little gardeners… And Bo Peep’s Playtime Training Grounds is an awesome playground for the little ones to blow off some steam and run off some energy.
Another special activity that is perfect for kids and adults alike is the Goodness Garden Butterfly House! You can immerse yourself in this area while 1,000 native butterflies fly around you! It really is an amazing experience and one you won’t soon forget!
No matter your age, or your interests, there is something at the Epcot Flower & Garden Festival for everyone! So if you are in Orlando in the Spring, make sure you check out this one-of-a-kind event!
